Ken Dean:  

After Annapolis High: I attended the University of Maryland. In 1969 I was in a bad car accident and had to withdraw from UM. Two years later received a AA degree in Engineering from Anne Arundel Comm. Coll. 1971-72 I attended Northern Arizona Univ. and graduated with a BS in Geology. Returned to Annapolis and worked for Griener Engineering in Baltimore. 1974 Quit my job and left Maryland and traveled cross country camping and fishing zigzagging between US and Canada. Met a lot of interesting people that summer. I was on my way to California to be near my girl friend but stopped off in Alaska to see what it was like. I did not make it to California but remained in Fairbanks, Alaska. Spent the winter in a cabin living off of moose meat grouse and ptarmigan along with store bought veggies.
