Ken's Story
Life
I was married long ago. I have a daughter (Francine), born 1993, she is now almost 14 years old. She lived with me for 4 years until she moved back with her mom last year. She has been a huge portion of my life.
I lost my Mom in 1996 to a heart attack. She didn't know it was happening because she suffered with Multiple Sclerosis for about 20 years.
I am a member of the Free and Accepted Masons (F&AM) of Ohio, Solon Lodge #757. At present I am a Past Master of my lodge, and volunteer my time to support events like the Cleveland Marathon and local community marathons and other events that request our assistance.
I own a Motorcycle, and ride it when the weather is decent. Many member of my lodge are founding the Northern Ohio Widows Sons Association for Masons that enjoy riding.
I recently got back into auditioning for little theater and Indie films, and have done one short Indie film as a background character. Francine has also recently started to do theater work, and after her first foray into it has decided to audition for the youth theater plays taking place this summer with the Playhouse Square.
Workplace
I presently work for First Consulting Group (FCG). They are the outsourced company for Information Technoogy & Support for University Hospitals.
I have been here for the last five years, and...Expand for more
work two positions. I am the Desktop/Device Support Coordinator and Application/Server Architect for many of the sub-projects coming to the environment through the "Soarian Project" as well as a member of the Field Engineering Team.
My responsibilities are diverse, but my primary position is with the Soarian Project. This project is updating the hospital billing system from a mainframe based application to a web based application to unify the several hospital facilities that UH owns as well as any additonal that may be added in the next few years.
My responsibilities start with testing potential equipment that will be used in the enterprise, troubleshoot any issues that arise from new changes to the enterprise from that new hardware, and create documentation for other support personnel to use when supporting the new devices and changes as they are implemented.
I am also responsible for designing and implementing the arcitechture for electronic and hardcopy output from the Soarian Financials and Soarian Scheduling systems to ensure that anything printed, faxed, emailed, paged, text messaged, or archived for long term storage is received or properly archived.
I have had many jobs in the past from line cook, to restaurant manager, to IT. I can honestly say this is one of the best places I have ever worked.
