Ken's Story
Life
Well been what 25 years since we graduated. I have not seen or heard from but a few of you over the years. I guess you all remember me as the wild crazy party animal that did not care nor attend school all that much. Well after graduation I worked construction for a few years then started my own painting contracting business. Did that for 8 years. Then I got married (married my high school sweetheart, she attended Green Run) and had a couple of sons. Decided I had to expand my business or go back to school.
Yea thats right me back in school now that should put a smile on your face. Well that is exactly what I did. Since I was out of high school for 10 years I did not have to take those drasted SAT's....whew. So I enrolled at ODU and 3 years later I had my degree in Busines Admin. with a concentration in accounting. I was even Beta Alpha Psi (honor frat. for accountants) Funny how life changes you. I hated school then paid to attend it.
My first job was an internal auditor for the Navy Exchange. I worked there for 11 years. I traveled all over the world auditing Navy Exchanges. Basically anywhere there was a Navy base I was there. I switched jobs in April and now am the Audit Manager for the city of Newport News.
I am still mar...Expand for more
ried to my high school sweetheart 21 years now. Guess what she does LMAO she is a teacher at Tallwood high school. I hated school then paid to attend and even married a teacher. Guess one of you shrinks out there could have a field day with that one I am sure.
I was a good bowler in high school and have bowled at least 2 leagues a week since then. I still average over 200 and have shot 8 perfect games (300 for those that do not bowl) as well as many near misses (299, 298 etc)
I also am a serious surf fishermen. I recently purchased a new Toyota 4 Runner (two weeks ago) and spend many weekends down in Hatteras in search of the ellusive red drum and cobia (these are fish LOL)
I coach baseball (two teams last season) and basketball. Guess I live vicariously through my sons. Oh they are 11 and 15 going on 30 LOL. He will be 16 in November so watch out on the hiways. There is nothing more satisfying then to take a kid who cannot throw a ball or hit it and by the end of the season he can do both and do them well.
I sure would like to get in touch with some of the Kellam allum that I went to school with be it good friends or just some of you that I went to class (when I was there and not asleep) with.
I can be reached here now.
