Ken's Story

Can't believe I'm doing this......Was kind of a nerd in high school. Went with Anna Hersler (Swedish exchange student) in my senior year and spent the next summer in Sweden visiting her. (Sadly, Anna passed away about 4 years ago.) Went to the UW but decided not to teach. Was a chef for 12 years (il Bistro and Salle al Lago). Have worked in tobacco dependence treatment for the past 21 years, first at Group Health, and now direct the clinical dept of Alere Health (locate...Expand for more
d in dowtown Seattle). Lots of travel -- for fun and work. Work internationally with the World Health Organization to help build tobacco treatment capacity in developing countries and founded the International Quitline Institute. LIve in Vaughn on the Key Peninsula with my wife (Tip Toland, an amazing artist). Have a son (Tom) who lives in Portland with his wife and my two beautiful grandchildren, Eleanor (7) and Petra (4). That's enough....left out all the gore......
