Ken's Story
Life--
Long ago Lakewood Shores was new, and a great place to be. Fishing, swimming, outdoor winter sports and hunting were just a natural part of a boy's basic education. My brother and I knew what parts of the Kankakee River were deep, shallow, safe, and where to catch the big catfish.. After decades of living elsewhere what I miss most is the River.
Since '67, I have completed undergraduate work at Olivet in Kankakee, and graduate courses at Eastern Illinois University, married, and raised two kids to successful careers as adults. I recently retired at General Manager of a Kansas C...Expand for more
ity radio station after nearly 50 years in broadcasting. In 2021, I was honored with a Lifetime Membership Award in the Missouri Broadcasters Association for many years of service to Missouri's Broadcasters.
I haven't quit being active, tho. I currently assist in overseeing the business operations of a moderately-sized commercial property management company with properties in Missouri Kansas and Indiana.
I truly believe that my most productive days are ahead of me. Life is good! Yes, I have some waiting-to-be-fulfilled ambitions but they can wait. Now, back to life's great adventure!!
