Ken's Story
Hello everyone! After graduating from high school I went to Emory & Henry College for one year. I married Beulah
Carole Meadows and we both finished our undergraduate degrees. My third year of college was at VCU in Richmond. In the meantime Carole finished her degrees and taught school. We were busy!
I taught high school for a couple of years, then completed the Master's Program at William & Mary. After teaching 3 years at the University of Richmond, the Ph.D Program at the George Washington University was next. We have
lived in North Carolina for the last 15 years on the coast and now retired in Gastonia, NC. I was a professor at
VCU, University of Richmond, and the College of Charleston, SC.
While living on the coast of NC (J'ville) we owned a 34 foot salt water house boat. We enjoyed the fishing and recreational activities for a few years. After experiencing three hurricanes we left that...Expand for more

We have lived in Richmond, St. Louis, Charleston, Jacksonville, and Birmingham. We enjoyed all these cities except
St. Louis. The weather was horrible there.We experienced 115 degree weather with strong winds and 6-foot snows. We never unpacked before we moved to Northern Virginia.
While we were in Birmingham I was a hospital and corporate training and organization development director for 25 hospitals in six Southeastern states. Next, Washington, DC as a manager of labor relations, recruitment, and compensation. These were exciting jobs and very enjoyable. Not bragging--just a statement of fact, please.
I taught adults in church school for a few years. Loved those seniors! Now I am one.
It has been years since I have attended a class reunion. Carole and I are looking forward to being there. I have
a brother & sister who still live in Richlands and Grundy. See y'all.
