Life
Didn't make much of a dent in high school. Bad skin, skinny and awkward, although I had a decent sense of humor. (I had to!) Although I co-edited the Beacon, I kept to myself and my own circle of friends while the jocks got the hot girls. Ironically, I still speak with many of those old Overbrook friends. But life has a way of evening things out and I have a very comfortable life style, and I have aged well without having had to sleep in a vat of pickles. hore in Margate. I retired from teaching in 1999 and have published over 950 short stories since. (Shameless plug alert! : Wrote two novels, OF A FEATHER, and SINKHOLE, both which you can find on Amazon.com.) Kept my wry sense of humor and positive disposition. I'm a successful semi-professional writer now, both emotionally and financially secure. There IS life after high school. And yes, my skin has cleared up.
