Kenneth's Story
I attempted to go to college in Florida after taking a year off. I wound up majoring in drinking and gambling; horses, poker, jai-alia, you name it. So naturally I moved to Vegas. I worked in the casino business for 16 years in many hotels and a couple of riverboats in Illinois. The casino biz turned into a giant baby sitting job and I couldn't take it anymore.
About 10 years ago I made the mistake of buying a horse. I learned how to trim its feet and one thing led to another and now I trim horses feet for a living I went from standing around in an air conditioned building, ...Expand for more
doing nothing, to busting my hump in 110 degree weather under a bunch of horses.
I got lucky and sold my 4 acre property in Vegas at the height of the real estate boom. I bought a 250 acre ranch in northern Nevada. My nearest neighbor is 4 miles away and the nearest decent sized town is 100. I am nearly out of the rat race, but still travel to Vegas and L.A. to trim horses.
I have a small herd of cows and some chickens, horses and a bunch of dogs. In 1983 I would never have believed this story. If anyone wants to drop a line, just put General Delivery, 89830 and I'll get it.
