Kenneth's Story
I participated in the Virginia Sierra Club Contingent in the Sunday 21 September People's Climate March in New York City (West Central Park Street). 399,999 other participants were counted. (I was the one with the white beard and the Seattle accent). I still love to sing. Some years ago, William Zukov of the Western Wind Ensemble told me that my range could now be described as high baritone or low tenor. I particularly love to sing Palestrina's "Adoramus Te!" and Shubert's "Ave Maria", and the "Gaudeamus Egitur" from "The Student Prince". Also "Nights in White Satin" and "Will you still love me tomorrow/" and the Irish Ballad "Lagan Love"(Also "The Minstrell Boy"). I am attempting to improve my reading knowledge of German. I am particularly fascinated by spotting Cognate Pairs of words in German and English which differ by a Consonantal Sound Shift (Tisch, dish, Tier, Dear, Teil,dial, Kleid,cloth, scharf,sharp,tief,deep,Du, thou,und so vielle anderen). anic Chemistry. (Sadly, I could still use help with Vector Calculus and Physical Chemistry.) I walk a lot, and people tell me that I am in surprisingly good health for 71. I stacked tobacco bails and did other work for many years at the Port of Richmond, Virginia, and I receive a Social Security AND a Teamster's Joint Council 83 Pension. I am politically left-wing (I like reading Noam Chomsky), agnostic (I like reading Bart D. Ehrman), vegetarian (PETA), childless (I'm pretty sure), and single. I would dearly love to hear from Sandra Boone Haramoto or Sally Wolf. I have been showing-up with others from the Sierra Club when the House Commerce and Labor Committee hears a Bill of interest to the Sierra Club ( We want to encourage Dominion Power to close-down its coal and uranium-fired Electric power Plants and build Wind and Solar.) I have also participated in a Rally at the John Marshall Courts Building downtown reference the jury finding in People of Florida versus George Zimmerman, and the non-prosecution of Daryl Something in Fergusson, Missourri. I read widely, often somewhere in the Dewey Decimal 330's.
