Kenneth's Story
I always wanted to be a architect when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were close.
Woorking as a Transportation Engineer for CALTRANS, I lived in Sacramento, Placerville, Clarksburg, Arroyo Grande, Salinas and Yuba City. All these moves were requested by CALTRANS' request.
I also lived in Granite City, Ill for a while when my Army Reserve Unit was activated in 1961. (Also at their request )
The two people from my past who I'd most like to see again is Gene Conley and Brent Waltz, because they were good friends.. Gene lives in Idaho now but I just can't locate Brent.
My real obsession these days is Genealogy. I am a Full Time Missionary at the Salt Lake City Utah Family History Mission, training new missionaries and helping people find their ancestors..
My first job was at the San Francisco Examiner, while still in high school, where I got paid very good to deliver papers from my 50 Chevy convertible. What I remember most about it is getting up at 2AM and then getting to school on time.. After retir...Expand for more
ement from CALTRANS in 1995 I did some fun work, operating rice harvesters, transporting railroad engineers, a merchandising manager for American Greeting Card Company and merchandise manager for Home Depot.
My first wife, Carol Tingey Peck, passed away after a 12 year battle with cancer. That was in 2008. I have remarried a lovely and beautiful lady named Sherry Morris (Erwin) Peck from Carson Valley, Nevada. I met her online when she was living in Springville, Utah. We moved to Queen Creek, Arizona as our permanent home and went RV-ing around the USA in 2010 and 2011. Now we are serving a 18 month Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Salt Lake City, Utah. Next summer we will be RV-ing once again and then probably another Mission.
UPDATE 2016: After much traveling around the USA, Canada, UK and France, we have settled down in Saint George, Utah.. We think (hope) this will be our last move. We are still serving in Family History Library work helping others find their ancestors. Would love to hear from all you out there.
