Kenneth's Story
Shortly after graduation, I was introduced to Trish Gordon by mutual friends that had set us up for a blind date. We hit it off right a way and married in August 1974. Trish was a nursing student at PCC and I was attending night classes with a goal of obtaining an engineering degree. Trish graduated and went to work at Watson Clinic, I didn't. I had been working as a land surveyor at IMC to pay for school and soon learned that I really enjoyed that line of work. After I got my A.S. degree, I quit and started working on my license as a land surveyor. I obtained my State license in 1984. I worked for a local engineering firm till 1990, then became the County surveyor for Polk County. I am now back in the private sector. Trish is an RN at Lakeland Hospital in the Cardiac Unit. She also teaches part time at Polk State (old PCC) in the Nursing dept.
We have two sons, Jared(32) and Justin(28). Jared has two children, Samantha(almost 8) and Blake(4). Justin has one son, Tyler(6).

reet rods. Any time the Nova leaves the garage, at least one, and usually all 3 grandkids are with me. Tyler says the Nova will be his one day and Blake lays claim to the 38 Plymouth I am building now. I've yet to find somthing that Samantha likes, but there is plenty of time.
Trish and I have lived a blessed life and look forward to many more years together. She was diagnosed with breast cancer on christmas weekend 2006, and we spent all of 2007 in surgical suites and chemo labs. I had to learn to give that fight up to God, because I couldn't fix it for her. All that is behind us now and she is two years cancer free. We participate in the annual cancer walks to help raise awareness.
We moved to a piece of land off Ewell Road at Hatcher Road in Medulla right after we married. I designed and built our home and we live there still.
If you are every around the Burger King on Hardin Boulevard on a Friday night, look for me and the Nova. I also go to Old Town a couple of saturdays a month.
My favortie way to relax is to spend time in the garage working on one of my cars.
