Kenneth Thompson:  

Shortly after graduation, I was introduced to Trish Gordon by mutual friends that had set us up for a blind date. We hit it off right a way and married in August 1974. Trish was a nursing student at PCC and I was attending night classes with a goal of obtaining an engineering degree. Trish graduated and went to work at Watson Clinic, I didn't. I had been working as a land surveyor at IMC to pay for school and soon learned that I really enjoyed that line of work. After I got my A.S. degree, I quit and started working on my license as a land surveyor. I obtained my State license in 1984. I worked for a local engineering firm till 1990, then became the County surveyor for Polk County. I am now back in the private sector. Trish is an RN at Lakeland Hospital in the Cardiac Unit. She also teaches part time at Polk State (old PCC) in the Nursing dept. We have two sons, Jared(32) and Justin(28). Jared has two children, Samantha(almost 8) and Blake(4).
