Kenneth Wasoba:  

Our family left Camanche shortly after I graduated in 1969. My folks bought a bakery in Savanna, Illinois. They made a really good business out of it, sold it in 1976 and moved to the St. Petersburg, Florida area. Our mother passed away in 1998 and dad will be 83 this coming July. After we moved, I kept many of my Camanche contacts and still keep in touch with several close friends on a regular basis. These include Bob Smith, Mark Hansen, Tom Gruntorad, Dan Bentley and Boni Hugunin. In June, 1971, I got drafted and ended up that same year as a combat infantryman with the 101st Airborne. You might guess it was a very exciting year, and it was. I actually ran into Mike Kooi in some jungle in the norhthern mountains. Small world. Upon coming home, I pursued a college degree and graduated from St. Ambrose in Davenport in 1976.
