Kenneth's Story

I guess any story about where I am now would begin from when the last time most of you reading had last seen me, that being 1977. I like most immediately went off to A.V College. I half-heartedly applied myself there for two years and finally went to work at a local restaurant. A job which was supposed to be temporary until I "decided what I really wanted to do", turned into thirteen years in the restaurant business at various locations and in various positions. The one great outcome of this was my giving my life to Jesus Christ. This has been the most profound and life-shaping decision I have made, and continues to be the source of all personal growth and strength. I then jumped into the car business, and became addicted to the lifestyle the good years provided for me. When the light finally came on in my head that to replace the income of those good years in another profession I would need to finish college, I actually became a good student. Thanks to the internet, and determination, I was able to earn my Bachelors degree in business management from the University of Phoenix. This for me is truly a great accomplishment. I met my wife Diane while working for a local car dealership. Not only is she absolutely wonderful, whe is great entertainment and a zillion times brighter than I am. She is one of my greatest blessings. But enough about me already, what about some of you. I'd love to learn of the great things which have happened in your lives. Speaking of where some of you ar, the one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Terry Wilson, because He and I were best of friends for so long. I have ran into him once since he left the Antelope Valley i...Expand for more
n 1976. We worked together for a while when I was a manager at a restaurant in Lancaster. I have also ran into his brother Michael on several occassions through a mutual friend. I hope all is well with him, and would love to contact him. If I could see one teacher from my past again, it would a Mr. Brad Lund. Mr. Lund ignited my passion for writing, and made me understand the power of words. Because of this, I am a published writer, and continue to write. Many of you may find this strange considering that I was more noted as an aspiring artist during high school. I have enjoyed some success as an artist, winning some awards for my paintings and drawings at local art shows and the like. In fact, I was only a few moments ago eye-balling a photo that I want to paint. But as a writer, I have written one book which has been published titled Silver Linings available through Publish America, and won a printer and nice plaque for my screenplay titled The Miracles of Marcus Richardson. No big movie deal yet so I continue in my day job as a car salesperson in Valencia. Many of you would be surprised at how many salespeople have advanced degrees in such areas as business, engineering, and accounting. The business attracts those of us who like talking. While I enjoy this, and it earns me money to do neat things with my wife, I am exploring other ways to use my skills as a communicator. I like many others am inspired by the election of Borak Obama to President and realize that with the work which needs to be done in serving my fellow man, comes tremendous opportunities to have a positive affect on things, and that its never too late to start. Blessings to all of you, Ken Eason
