Kenny's Story
I am very pleased with my life. I was fortunate to find my soul mate my first day of class in September 1963, at Sacramento City College. I am married to Carol Shoemake (White) who graduated from Luther Burbank in June 1963. We will celebrate 47 years of happy marriage in August 2013. We have 3 children: Jim, who is married to Erin, and has two boys. He is the Director of Employee Relations for San Juan Unified School District. Cheryl, who is married to Phil, and has a girl and a boy. She is a teacher in the Gold Trail School District and lives in Placerville. Julie, who is currently divorced, and has four boys, lives in Wilton with her fiancee. She is currently a stay at home Mom. So, we are fortunate to have all of our children, their spouses, and our grandchildren close by. Aft...Expand for more
er graduation from Sacramento City College, I served with the Army - 3rd Infantry Division. After my discharge, I graduated from Sacramento State, and spent 25 years with the State of California; 13 years was as a Parole Agent in South Sacramento and Oak Park. So, I feel like I actually served during two war periods: The Vietnam Era and the War on Drugs. After retirement, I opened a recycle and document management business, which is still operational. We still visit Vic's, and ride our bicycles in Land Park. It brings back such great childhood memories. We live in Cameron Park, but also have an apartment in Midtown. We love the vibe and the restaurants in Midtown. I have fond memories of so many of you from Riverside School, California Junior High, and C.K. McClatchy. Go Lions!!!!!
