Lynn's Story
Hi everyone well my story, let see I got married right out of high school to my high school sweetheart Rod Brundle, we had two children Boy (R.J.) and a girl (Nicole) we divorced in 1980, began my career in the staffing Industry, all together I have 22 years in the staffing industry. I married again to a great guy Ken Smith in 1993, we had no children and it was fine. We began having grandchildren our first born August 6, 1993, a boy from my daughter (Kenny Truesdelle III)
Now I have 4 grandchildren from my two kids 3 from my daughter and 1 from my son, also 3 more from my son's second marriage.
I was moving right along enjoying life until August 1996 I found out I had liver desease with cirhrosis of the liver, found out it was from a blood transfusion I had prior to my daughter being born. Well finally in July 1999 I finally got my new liver and I'm a live transplant survivor, which they say is great as only 237 livers have been given since 1992. Many people die prior to receiving a transplant. So If it wasn't for our Lord I would not be here. It was a long struggle and alot of heartache and pain, but Thank God for prayer I'm alive and well today.
The company I worked for last was Staff Control, Inc in Long Beach for 18 years I loved that job, I went from service representative to director of risk and safety department wi...Expand for more
thin the first 14 years. While I was recouperating from the transplant the company sold and the new company didn't want any of the former employees. So I have been doing consulting work on my own and other little jobs since. I went back to school. I'm getting my B.A. in Business from Ashford University it a on-line college program. It's great and very demanding but the freedom of going on line opposed to going to college in a class structure is much better and still very interesting. I should graduate with my B.A. next Oct, 2009. With that in my pocket I shouldn't have any problem finding work in my field again.
Well in my spare time, I enjoy working with silk floral arranging, refinishing old furniture, playing golf with Ken and my grandchildren, playing in the garden and just enjoying life. I'm very thankful I still have one. So everyday is a brand new day to enjoy all the things God has put in front of me to explore, try and express. I'm a young grandma and I enjoy being able to do physical things with my grandsons and granddaughter. They always put a smile on my face.
Sometimes I feel I'm the luckiest woman in the world and I have the good Lord to thank for it. God Bless everyone and this is my story and I'm stickin to it, as Mr. Get Smart Don Adams used to say! If you ever watched that show. That's it in a nut shell!!!
