J. Kent's Story
Life
At Riley I was mainly involved with musical activities: band, orchestra, glee club, and combos that played for dances. After earning bachelor's and master's degrees in music at IU-Bloomington, I served as a percussionist in the U.S. Military Academy Band at West Point. remarried. I retired after 43 years of teaching and research in 2013. My wife, Loretta, and I now live at WhiteStone, a continuing care retirement community in Greensboro. My daughter and two granddaughters live in Westfield, IN. Loretta and I try to get to Indiana every summer to visit and to hear the final rounds of the Great American Songbook competition in Carmel.
