Kerri's Story
What a ride this last 40 years since graduating H.S. has been! Married at 19, baby boy at 20, another baby boy at 25, divorced at 28. Married again at 28, gained a 16 year old son, had a baby girl at 29. Married for 28 years just “livin’ the dream.”👨👩👧👦👨👦Kids are all raised, gone to college, married, have kids🧍🧍🧍🏻♀️👬 (or dogs)🐕 🐩 of their own.
I needed someone/something to nurture so I went to school with my daughter and we got our CNA certificates and I started doing in home healthcare. I loved doing that and it fulfilled what I needed.
Then in 2020 Greg was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma Cancer. His body rejected every treatment they tried to give him. We opted to go on Hospice so he could stay home and out of the hospital during COVID and say goodbyes to family and friends. Within 4 months he passed away.

family saw lots of blessings out of the tragedy that came with his passing. He lived to make his family happy.
I went to work after being a stay at home mom my whole life. I realized that I had been missing so much. I absolutely LOVE ❤️ work! Who knew there was a whole world out there full of people to interact with?! After working for Greg’s best friend for a year, in walks a familiar face. I have known this man for 43 years. I have called him every year on his birthday. He takes me and our other friend, Alicia to lunch when he comes into town. We have been friends through it all. He wasn’t looking for anyone after being married twice and neither was I. We were always “just friends.”
We’ve been dating a year and a half now and definitely looking towards the future. Dating your best friend is better than anything I could have imagined. 👩❤️👨
