Kerri's Story

35 Years ~ So hard to believe that it has almost been that long since most of us were 18 and graduating from HS. Oh, the good old days!! I hope that you will all come to our 35th Reunion coming up this summer. It really is so much fun to gather with old friends and classmates to reconnect and remininse about he good old days in Copley. If you don't normally attend or even if u hv never attended, please consider joining us! You are a part of our class and you are cared about! We look forward to seeing you this summer!! Merry Christmas to you one and all! I hope 2012 has been a good year for you all and that 2013 brings about much joy and wonderful memories to you and your loved ones! Keep your eyes on Facebook and Classmates for announcements this coming year for our 35th Class Reunion, which will be similar to our 30th in a casual setting ~ It most likely will be in July. We hope to see you all there! It's always so much fun to gather with old friends/classmates! Take care and God bless you all! Happy Fall 2011 What a beautiful fall we have had - so many warm and sunny days - gotta love that!!!! Extra glad because our youngest plays youth football and he was practicing 3 days a wk and then had a game every Sat. - I am so happy that we had many nice days to sit and watch the kids play football, and thank heavens he liked it this year - barely any complaints. But now the season has ended and we are all happy about that - it seemed like such a long season and so happy it is behind us now!!!! I can hardly believe that November is fleeting by - where have the days gone???? Our eldest son turned 23, I can hardly believe that and it seems like yesterday we were holding our newborn son and watching him grow. He's been gone, out on his own for more than 4 years now - and enjoying his life. Our middle child our daughter is growing up so quickly as well. She is now a freshman and growing more beautiful every year!! There is so much to enjoy in High School and she is loving it thus far - the Homecoming is something that she will always remember. For me I stay busy taking care of my family, volunteering, chauffeuring the kids and their friends around, and just finished an awesome biblestudy. It was called Walking by Faith - Lessons learned in the Dark. The amazing woman who wrote the study, Jennifer Rothschild, became nearly blind at 16 - she went on to marry, have children, write songs, play the piano and write bible studies. I can't imagine how she does and did all that she did and for most of the time keeping her faith, which kept her strong through the many trials she has and continues to face. I wonder, if like her mom, the great encourager, I can be as strong and encouraging to my children/family and friends as she has been. I can only hope that I am!!! Right now I am just starting, for my 5th year in a row helping w/ our Annual Talent Show at our son's elementary. Thankfully I have several wonderful women on my committee - thank heavens for those young and computer savy women!!!! Last year we had more than 130 kids and more than 60 acts - the final show always done at the high school's beautiful auditorium. It is so awesome for the kids to have this opportunity to shine and share their many gifts with others, so I am happy to spend hours and months to make the show a success. Thankfully, the show won't go on until Feb., so the kids have lots ot time to practice and our committee has lots of time to do all that we need to accomplish our many tasks. I hope that you all are enjoying all that life has given you - the good and the bad. Through the dark times - we can grow and learn and become the persons we are meant to become. Happy Thanksgiving to Each One Of You - in this time of much trouble in the world, it is so important for us to focus on our blessings, never taking life for granted. Take care and remember that you are loved! June 2011 Thanking God for days like today - sunny, actually cooler temps - hard to believe for 6/14 - after the frigid temps this winter and all of the snow and then more than 50 days in a row of rain this spring - I give thanks. It's so sad how many lives have been lost recently due to tornados and flooding - people losing all of their possessions, homes and sometimes family members and friends. So when I started to complain last month about all the rain - I would then quickly grab on to those thoughts, reining them in and change my perspective - reminding myself and those around me how blessed we are. Our 3 kids are ...Expand for more
doing well, my parents though of course aging - are still with us and we are doing well and are secure. I hope life is going well for you - find something to feel blessed about and remember to enjoy life! July 2010 Next month it will already be 3 years since we relocated to Medina - the kids are growing up so quickly - ages 21, 13 (almost) & 8. My 50th birthday was a blast - I was onto my friends about their surprising me - and I had great fun letting them know it! They are so sweet however, and I so appre- ciate their surprise, it was my 2nd only suprise party - so I love how they made mine so special! I really am not affected by being 50, after all, we are growing older each and every day - but we are only as old as we feel and I feel good and blessed to be me. Classmates & Facebook have been such awesome tools - allowing me to connect with so many people - like classmates, friends, relatives ....... Hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July - I believe these days we really can't take our freedom for granted and we need to appreciate the blessings that we have as Americans. God bless the USA - that song still gives me chills!! Take care! Feb. 2010 I can't believe how quickly time is passing, many from our Class of 1978 will be or already are 50. Wow! I don't know about you, but I just don't feel that old, well at least most of the time! Life has been good to me and I feel so blessed. I'm grateful to have graduated from such a fine class - we had a great bunch of classmates and I have such fond memories from our days at Copley. And so many teachers throughout the years touched me so and I still have wonderful memories of them today. Any Arrowhead Elem. students recall our 1st grade teacher Mrs. Hill? Many of us loved her so much and felt so at home in her class that we called her "mom". I also really liked my 3rd grade teacher too, Mrs. Donahue. Then due I guess to overcrowding, some neighborhoods transferred to Herberich Elem., so that's where I went in 5th and 6th grade. It was so hard at first, but I remember making some really good friends there and I loved my 6th grade teacher Mr. Baum. Who do you recall from Jr. High?? I had a crush on our 7th grade teacher, Mr. Bennett. I thought he was so nice and cool back then. And of course our awesome choir teacher Mrs. Nolin - she helped me to develop such a love for singing and choir that I stuck with it all the way up through my senior year. In High School probably one of my favorite teachers was Mrs. Matkowski - British Literature. I'm sure there are many more that I can remember, but these few stick in my mind the most. I hope you all have a blessed 50th year filled with wonderful memories to treasure and also a wonderful celebration of course since this is such a landmark year!! Take Care & God Bless You All! Kerri ***************************** August 2008 We just celebrated our 1 year anniversary at our home in Medina. Where did the year go??? It's so hard to believe that we have been "back home" for a year already after being gone for 23 years prior to that. We love it here - the beautiful seasons, all of the lovely trees and rolling hills - and of course being closer to family and friends. I can't believe we are about to celebrate our 30th Class Reunion!! I know everyone has their own opinions about attending reunions, but I personally love to see our old classmates. Our classmates really mean something to me, they are a part of my past, my history - and I care about them. Those that don't care to attend, know that you are missed and also that you are missing out on 2 great evenings of fun, reconnecting with old friends. I hope that each of you are doing well in life and that you are happy. Happiness, starts from within, so enjoy life and be safe!! God bless you all! And for those of you that will be attending - I look forward to our paths crossing once again in Copley Indians territory. And those of you coming from out of the area or out of state, I'll be praying for your safe journey. Until we meet again. As they say in the now '2000's - Peace Out! Life I married Kevin Landsness on 9-1-84, and we moved to Houston,TX, then Austin, then San Antonio and then we spent 6 1/2 years in Rhode Island. For the past 12 years we were in Hilliard, OH (Columbus). We have 3 children Westley (5), Madison (10) and Cliff (19) - the college plan. We just moved back "home" after being gone for 23 years. We went from a small lot in Columbus to almost 4 acres and are loving it!! It's great to back home again!!
