Kevin's Story

I always enjoyed my high school friends when we got together. I hope they remember me as a loyal friend. I wanted to be a business person when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a safe idea. As it turns out, they were right. To blow off steam I like to get out and go on a nice long bike ride or play golf. I've spent the past 22 years in Sales & Marketing operations with a variety of companies in the Twin Cities and Milwaukee. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Steve Lee, because we grew as friends from 8th grade to 12th grade. I'm still a very passionate MN sports fan pulling for the Vikings, Twins, Wild, and Gophers. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the kitchen and add on a large family room. My dream home would be a large ranch with lots of space to entertain family, friends and visitors. My children have taught me tremendous patience, the ability to adjust when things change in life and to have fun & laugh in many different situations. I'd like to see Mr. Buzz Johnson the 8th grade physical education teacher from Sunrise Jr Hi, he was always very encouraging. If I won $100 million, I'd give a large part of it to the Christian community, then spend the rest on my family, relatives and friends. My college experience was life changing. I made a commitment to live my life differently after 3/28/81 and that took some time to develop. I was a late bloomer and found some success in my studies and playing college sports at a ...Expand for more
small school. I hope to run a marketing department someday. My best friend would tell you I'm passionate and driven to help people become successful, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as boring. I once had a job that had me out of town for 20 days in a row working 16-17 hours a day. I learned a great deal about perserverence and persistance. I share my home with my wife Sandy, and our two boys Michael and Daniel which I find very fulfilling. Having a family has taught me so much about life, love and building others up. I was most proud of being a leader on the first CRM project at 3M. Today I enjoy a career in marketing for GE Healthcare. If I had one do-over I would I treat people better and have more fun, time to enjoy life more. In 10 years, I hope to be retired. I'm going to get there by investing wisely and staying the course. Thinking back to when I walked into Mrs. Arm's 2nd grade class at Golfview School I first met Bob Messetler, we became friends. He taught me how to skate then gave me my first pair of hockey skates. I still enjoy hockey today as a player and referee. My first job was at Northwestern College, where I got paid $13K to recruit students in the midwest. What I remember most was the 80% travel and staying in $11.00 motel rooms in northern Minnesota. My favorite memories of growing up in WBL was playing pond or street hockey with the kids in our neighborhood. Those memories will stay with me for a long time.
