Selected to attend Field Artillery and Missile Officer Candidate School and graduated as a commissioned Second Lieutenant in January, 1969. More advanced training followed by my first trip s a detachment commander and aerial observer to Vietnam. Spent the balance of my time bouncing around the globe and US. Attended seven colleges and universities between 1964 and 1990. Retired from the Army in November, 2002. Began as an adjunct teaching speech and theatre appreciation at Newberry College in January, 2003 and ended my contract in January, 2013. bamboo rain sticks. Married to Pam for 17 years who started out as a model and then moved on to being a firefighter, EMS tech on the ambulance and finally part of the sheriff's office. She brought two sons (now both married) and I brought one daughter (now a mom herself) to the marriage. Our retirement home is referred to the Tea Garden House as the former owner whose family occupied about 30 acres of land in the 1800's also built a tea garden park (circa 1920) with all the vegetation know to grow in Japan. The Tea Garden now belongs to the city (thank heavens) and our home borders it as our home has a somewhat oriental flavor. It's almost comical when I walk out on our back deck as the folks who visit the garden think I would be dressed in a Sumo robe.
