Kevin's Story
I am Mandy, Meg and Sean's dad, probably the best thing I ever did, but, to be real honest, my wife Amy did most of it, I just tried to help.
I was a naval officer for a long time, full time for six years and then part time. I retired as a commander and flew their helicopters for roughly twenty years.
I went to law school at William and Mary where, instead of writing for the law review I wrote the humor column for rhe weekly paper. I passed the Virginia and Massachusetts Bars. aid next to nothing. Together with some other good souls, I fought the long defeat of foster childrens' rights in Massachusetts. I finally gave up when I realized that I had become more of a part of the problem than a contributor to the solution.
I had a nice job writing veterans' appeals in Richmond until I got very sick and struggled with the work load. I took a job as a magistrate, mostly for the medical benefits coupled with the lack of intellectual demand. I am feeling better now, though I know it can only be temporary.
I would urge all of my old friends to try and enjoy every day. Life is fleeting.
