Kevin's Story
Life
After BSHS, I went to MSU and majored in Math Education with a minor in Econ. After graduating in 1968, I got a job teaching 8th and 9th grade math in Wallace, Idaho for 1 year. After this, I became THE math teacher in Judith Gap, MT for two years. After applying as a CO with my Draft Board, the school fired me. A looked around for a job and found one teaching math and science in Lesotho, Southern Africa, thanks to the Peace Corps. They are right in saying it is "the hardest job I ever loved." After leaving there, I wound up in Maryland teaching at a Friends' (Quaker) school for 9 years. I also got a summer job at a local outdoor camp where I taught rock climbing and packed out weekly trips for kids from 9 to 14 years old and kept the books until 1990.

I met the love of my life in 1987 after my first angina attack. We were paired up in a Gilbert and Sullivan Operetta directed by a mutual friend. She has a 26 year old son with autism. I have known and loved him as my own since I first met him when he was 6. He is a fun and challenging individual.
Jenny and I got married (me for the first and only time) and it has been a great part of my life. I had a quadruple bypass in 1996 and have been exercising ever since. Jenny died May 21st of this year (2007) after a five month battle of Stomach Cancer.
Our daughter was born in 1990 and she has a real talent for singing. She is now in the process of applying to colleges. Her choices are Oberlin, Baldwin-Wallace, Elon, Ithaca College, Shenandoah Conservatory, and Westminster Choir College. She is getting ready for her auditions and is very nervous.
