John Kim's Story
Life after high school I worked on Broadway in New York as a Musical Conductor working with Gene Kelly, Vincent Price, Lauren Bacall & Sonny Bono. Graduated from OSU in 1976. Appointed Apprentice conductor of Toronto Symphony in 1980. Pupil of Leonard Bernstein. Composer of television and movies. Established a Foundation in 1984 and raised $80 million dollars to provde Native American students with educational scholarships for University. nt of Officer of the Order of Canada-highest civilian award in Canada,the 1998 Royal Bank Award for Canadian Achievement, major humanitarian award with cash prize of $250,000. Recipient of six Honorary Doctorates and Order of Ontario. One of five Canadian advisors to His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales (Charles). Currently (2008-09) an energy executive with Brookfield Renewable Power. Lives in Toronto with wife, Trina. One son and one step son. I have been extremely fortunate and have had a very rich set of experiences.
