Kim's Story
I've been in the Reno, NV area for 15 years now, moving here after graduating with my nursing degree from Weatherford, OK. I will be married for 4 years in July - yes, I did wait a while, but finally found my man. Brian and I plan on having no children, but we absolutely love our dog Joker! And we love our Harley's. I have 3 motorcycles of my own and just got my Sportster over a year ago. My husband used to own a Harley repair shop, so it's pretty cool doing our own work and I'm very actively involved when it comes to my bikes. We'll be doing our second annual Redwood forest Run in June - about 700 miles roundtrip to the coast for an old school biker camping party - it's a definite culture. I still drive my V8 Dodge pickup and bought a convertible hardtop jeep wrangler soon after we got married - I love my little jeep! In 2000, I had lasik surgery, it's cool not having to wear glasses all the time. I'm in to going to concerts and have been to at least 50 with my latest one being Tesla last weekend - 4th row! Brian and I go to a lot of movies too and I'm in to saving the tickets. I've been at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center for 6 years now and plan on retiring there. Great pension plan, great pay and benefits and I really love only working three 12hr shifts a week. I'm an orthopedic RN taking care of fresh post op patients with new knees, hips - pt who sustain fractures of all kinds and spinal surgeries. e at The Sanctuary, it's almost like a resort spa here in town. I've been doing pilates, yoga and meditation at least twice weekly for over a year now. I'm in to this yearly event that happens in the Black Rock desert about 2 1/2 hours away from here, a world known event called Burning Man. I've been going for 7 years now, some outrageous art like you've never seen before and some pretty crazy characters. Brian and I like the outdoors and we really enjoy backpacking, we've found our own lake - it's so quiet and beautiful and only within a couple of hours from here too. We've been to some NBA basketball games in Sacramento, our Kings haven't been doing too well these last couple of years. A couple of friends of mine and I plan on going to Mexico in the fall and we're really looking forward to it. I've been to Rome, Italy in 2002 and climbed to the top of the leaning tower of Pisa, went to New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina, other than being back home in Altus, just hanging out around here in Reno and Lake Tahoe which is only 45 min away. The snow's been crazy this year - we like to go cross country skiing and have been once so far this year. I've also been doing Dream Dinners for over a year now. Making a month's worth of meals in a couple - three hours, it saves us so much time and it's really good food. I love food! I plan on being home for our 20th. My sister still lives in Altus and I've got two nephews, Jacob, 13, and Jared, 4. I look forward to spending time with my family and friends! See you there!
