Life well,after managing restaurants for 20 yrs.,and realizing i'm not getting any younger, i decided to follow one of my dreams. i'm now a professional truck driver. the $$ was good in the food business but the stress was not. i've always loved driving and traveling so i figured why not get paid for it. i've been driving now for 5 1/2yrs and love it. i've been to every state(except alaska-went to hawaii on vacation) and all the major cities. been to the smallest cities as well. believe it or not but some of the largest plants are in small towns. i work for Central Refrigerated service. our trailers are refrigerated so we haul mainly food. we pick up at all kraft plants,nestle,stouffers,sara lee,all beef plants,pork plants, coors beer,budweiser,miller,etc(theres so many i cant list them all) and deliver to mainly warehouses where local trucks deliver to the stores. we deliver to walmart distribution centers *alot*!! then their local drivers go to the actual stores. its very interesting how this country works. ive picked up bananas right off the boat at a dock in california and delivered them to a walmart dist. in nebraska. amazing their still good after how many day...Expand for more
