Kim's Story
After graduation, I attended University of Texas in Austin and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering. I worked in Tyler, Dallas, and Houston for several years and then moved to Alaska.
I attended the University of Alaska in Anchorage (UAA) and graduated with a Master of Science in Science and Engineering Management.
I worked for many years as a consulting engineer and now work for the Alaska Village Electrical Cooperative, providing electric utility services for about 50 rural Alaskan villa...Expand for more
ges. We do a lot of alternative energy research and were voted the most Wind Friendly Utility in the nation last year.
In 1996, I started teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses at Alaska Pacific University. Now, I also teach there part time and at UAA part time.
In 2002, I attended seminary and became an ordained minister. Now, I lead a small, interfaith organization.
I have two grown kids, a daughter who is a counselor, and a son who is an artist. They are both my heroes!
