Kim's Story
I have led a blessed life!
First, I have had TWO happy marriages. The first was to Kathleen Mary Bosworth Lopdrup, who died of brain cancer in 1999. The second is to Lillian Cathryne "Cathy" Lopdrup.
We have FOUR terrific kids. That includes three daughters from my first marriage and a son from my second marriage. Going from oldest to youngest, Jen is married, has a daughter, and is the youngest VP at Intuit. Rebecca is also married and General Manager of the Fire business at Amazon. Rachel graduated from Mayo Clinic School of Medicine and is now doing her residency in Milwaukee. George graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Geneva School and completed a creative writing program at Full Sail University.
In August 2021 I retired as CEO of Red Lobster, the world's largest seafood restaurant company, after leading the company for 14 years (two separate stints of 7 years each). Other jobs included President of Specialty Restaurant Group (which includes Capital Grille, Eddie V’s, S...Expand for more
easons 52, Bahama Breeze, and Yard House) and New Business for Darden Restaurants; Chief Operating Officer of Burger King; and Chief Executive Officer of Allied Domecq Quick Service Restaurants International (the international division of what is now called Dunkin' Brands).
I'm currently on the Boards of Wawa, Bob Evans Restaurants, Presto Automation and Botrista Technology.
We live in Winter Park, FL but also have a townhouse in Flourtown, PA.
I’m grateful to Brandywine High School for greatly expanding my horizons. I arrived at Brandywine as a shy introvert who had attended grades 1-10 at public schools in Parkersburg, WV. Brandywine helped me see what is possible in life and get into the College of William and Mary. William and Mary then helped me further develop and get into Harvard Business School. I wound up being a successful CEO who led five turnarounds. That would not have happened if Brandywine had not helped shape me at a critical time on my life.
