On August 15, 1977, I began my gig at Madison Newspapers -- first a year in circulation, then a few in advertising (classified and retail) and year at the front desk (where for a time I worked with Ronnie McCann and man, did we have fun!). Then I was recruited to the city desk for The Capital Times .. where I spent the rest of my days until the Times basically imploded and didn't need dinosaurs like me any longer.
