Kim's Story
I have been married to a high school boyfriend since 1992. Gary Wiggins graduated the year after I did. We have a 12 year old daughter who keeps us both on our toes and feeling not to smart a lot of the time.
We live in Peachtree City, Ga. It is much closer to Montgomery than any other place we have lived since we got married. Gary is a pilot for Delta and I am a stay at home mom. We are enjoying our 100 miles of golf cart paths here and rarely have to drive our cars-that has made the $4.00 a gallon gas more bearable.
Gary flies the international routes, so Kathleen and I are traveling with him as much as we can. We have been to London twice this year and just returned from Rome. We haven't managed the Paris trip yet, but hope to do that before school starts. Traveling to Europe is a shock, since when we lived in Germany in the early 90s the dollar was actually strong.
We get back to Montgomery fairly frequently. Both of our mothers are there as well as some friends we have managed to stay in touch with. We would like to reconnect with more of our old classmates.

ry has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. At his age, he is considered an excellent canditate for surgery instead of radiation or chemo. He will have surgery on September 22. Recovery should be 3-4 weeks. He will need to be checked every 6 months for 5 years and then once a year after that. We are optomistic about his prognosis.
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers. It is a very stressful and difficult time for all of us. Kathleen (who just turned 13 last week) is not quite sure to handle it. We are so lucky that all of her teachers are being so supportive. She hears cancer and is scared and then we try to reassure her that it is not quite as scary as it could be. Thanks goodness she has so much faith in what we say and trusts us that everything will be fine.
In the midst of all of this, we lost our beloved family pet. He suffered a traumatic internal rupture and was gone almost before we knew what was going on. He had been with us for 13 years, so it has only adde3d to our stress. We have 2 new dogs, but still feel his loss.
