Kim's Story
Life
Ok after graduation I had a great summer with friends and then went into the Army. Spent 2 years in Germany and then went to Saudia Arabia for the first Gulf war. Tour of duty as over so I went back to Germany and lived as a civilian for a few months then came back to CA to go to college
Had a few tragic events (house burnt down and dog got hit by a train)all in the same week. Moved in with boyfriend then married boyfriend Charlie Bormolini of Novato bought a house in Danville and had two kids. Now playing the role of stay home yuppie mom and going back to school to get teaching degree( art teacher). I still love to paint and do alot of freelance work.
Military
My boyfriend at the time was going in and was telling me what a great college fund the army provides. i also wanted so much to go to Europe. So I joined. November 2, 1988 I signed and went to Ft. Dix for training. Lucki...Expand for more
ly a friend Brandy Pritchard came with me. This made the whole boot camp like summer camp. For AIT I was at Ft Dix also. Motor Transport Operator (truck driver) I should have picked a job that I was planning on continuing when I got out but I really wanted to see as much of Europe as possible. Europe was awesome. The autobahn was fast. I was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany in the 3rd armour division Bco 122 spt battalion and hhc headquarters commadant. It was great fun. Then gulf war 1 began and I was sent to Saudi Arabia for 9 months. Not exactly what I had planned but it was a great experience. I was there Dec 28 1990 ( my 21st birthday) till May 13 1991. After the gulf war I had my fill of military life and wanted to start using my college fund so I returned to CA to go to college. A little older and a little wiser and uncle sam paying for it. I would do it all again in a heart beat.
