Kimberly's Story
Life
Happily married to Al Carpenter III of almost 5 years (1st marriage). We have a 4-year old son, AJ who has an uncontrolled mixed seizure disorder. Developmentally AJ is between 12-18 months. Verbally AJ's between 6-8 months--he doesn't speak at all. I'm trying to teach AJ sign language, but with the hundreds of seizures AJ has per day, anything he learns is erased from his memory, which is why he has to learn the same things over and over.

In 1999 I resigned from the Sheriff's Department at the Vista Detention Facility in California, where I worked as a Jail Clerk for almost 10 years.
I currently am a homemaker, taking care of our disabled son and my 93-year old grandmother who still lives alone, in Escondido. This keeps me pretty busy along with my at home business where I type resumes, letters, documents, create websites, etc.
