Kimberly's Story

Life After high school I attended SIU and received my degrees in Aviation Flight/ Aviation Management. After college I slowly advanced and earned my first type rating in a jet in 1995, which just means in basic terms...Captain. During 1995 and 1996 I left the US and flew all of Europe, Eastern Europe, Africa and South America. I had enough excitement by then and came back to Chicago where I continued to fly corporate jets mostly in the US. During my time back in the states I became involved in the Marine industry and helped manage several of my jet clients yachts. Finally I earned my 100 ton Captains license and in 2003 I made a giant Leap of Faith into the yachting industry and took over running a 115 foot motoryacht which just happened to be named Blind Faith. Since then I have spent most of my time in the islands of the Bahamas (there are over 720). We are both a private and a charter yacht so we meet lots of interesting people. Most of our days consist of fishing, snokeling, scuba diving, and maintenance of the boat. In November 2006 we sold Blind Faith. Check out the September 2006 issue of Yachting Magazine under The Top 5 Hottest Yachts and we made it to #1 on the list. Hope everyone is well and happy. UPDATE--- My boyfriend and I decided to sell our 70ft. Motoryacht and buy a 110ft. Broward motoryacht to charter. We closed on January 19th and have been out of the water since the 23rd of January. d be splashed back in the water by 9th of February! Currently we are installing 33 underwater lights on the boat, refitting the whole interior, adding a hottub, 2 new jet skis, all new soft goods, and new paint on the exterior then we will be launched. We also bought a 30 ft. Renegade to tow behind. Website will be yacht-islandtime.com! Name of the big boat is Island Time - Name of the 30' is Time Flys(since are are both former corporate pilots and the boat goes 70mph) - Name of our 15' tender is Time to Go(since Peter is always telling the guests "Come on, Come on, Come on, half the day's gone (at 7am) - Name of the 2 jet skis are Tick and Tock. I plan on posting lots of pics once I catch my breath. Update - April 4, 2007 Finally made it over to Nassau on M/Y Island Time. We are getting extremely booked with charter and should stay very busy until October. I will try to post current pics. Update - May 4, 2008 We completed our first full year of charter at the beginning of April 2008. It was amazing. We met amazing people and also revisited with past guests. We are definitely on Island Time here. Things can be slower than we wish (waiting for parts) and not always available (lots of grocery items, like fresh milk) but on a calm day with water so clear that you can see the bottom 60 feet under, I really can't complain. I even have had 2 different guests on from Barrington! Always trying to post better pics.
