Kimberly's Story

Kimberly During has been a Tampa Bay resident since 1987 and is a USF Alumni holding both a CPA, MBA, and is currently pursuing her PhD. Kimberly During established her first banner company, K.Tek Systems, Inc. in 1994, a full service business consulting and Internet Technology provider, now celebrating its unprecedented 15 years of success. Kimberly has consulted with over 800 businesses various areas, such as, Executive Leadership, Business Development, Business Strategy, Business Process and Organizational Re-engineering, Infrastructure Design, and Technology Consulting. Ultimately, providing high-end and proprietary business solutions using the infusion of Internet based technology solutions. Kimberly is a change agent, strong problem solver and advocate of hundreds of CEO¿s in the automation of their businesses focusing them on some ¿key critical success factors¿, streamlining operations and cutting cost, increasing revenue, and increasing the time to market for their product or service. This vested interest that Kimberly takes in her client base has provided for K.Tek¿s 15 year tenure, an average 40%+ ¿top line¿ successful growth, above average profitability remaining at 35%+ for 15 years (EBITA), outstanding employee retention and 98% client retention ratio for her ventures. Kimberly and K.Tek have provided services and solutions to small businesses, large privately held businesses, and Fortune Kimberly has consulted with large industries, such as, the Electric Utility Power Brokering, DISH Satellite, XM and Sirius Radio Networks, Insurance Companies, Banks Financial Institutions, Medicaid, Real Estate, Ecommerce and Health related institutions. Since then, Kimberly has successfully exhibited her proven leadership, visionary abilities, and entrepreneurial spirit and exhibits a long list of proven successful experiences, successes, skills, and is considered a ¿Serial Entrepreneur¿. Kimberly uses her skills in many ways by establishing several other successful companies in Tampa Bay and internationally, in the areas of business and infrastructure consulting, capital investment and management support systems, Internet marketing, ecommerce, industry specific software solutions, real estate, acquisitions and mergers, continuing education, and electronic publishing of Children¿s Books, and more. Kimberly is the author of many proprietary large industry vertical market software products and Intellectual Property, as well as, Service Delivery Management Models and other unique Organizational Business Communications and Technology Systems. Also, Kimberly designed, developed and taught her own 10 Course Series and Subject Matter that prepared students for a series of test needed to gain their Certified Microsoft Systems Engineer certification. Kimberly, also, consults for the United Nations and her last project was the ¿Globalization of Women¿, as well as, a Certified Consultant, of which she contributes for many Professional Organizations in various capacities. Kimberly and her companies have been consistently recognized in Tampa Bay as some of the Top Technology Companies, Top Women Owned Companies, and the FAST 50 list. Kimberly, once named the ¿Dot Com Mom¿ in 1995, has more recently been recognized for her Outstanding Contribution to the Economic Growth and Development of Pinellas County by the Mayor. And twice, Kimberly was recognized and received the Republican Small Business of the Year Award presented in Washington, DC. Also, other awards and K.Tek¿s recognition where given by the Frontier Leadership group for young business success, outstanding leadership and accomplishment, as well as, Kimberly¿s volunteer work. The Small Business Association named Kimberly as the Top Business Women of the Year. And, the IIBA gave K.Tek the award for the Top Technology Company, The Most Innovative, as well. a new Non Profit Foundation, as well as, running her businesses, always finds the time to actively participate in activities that positively impact Tampa Bay. Much of her gratification derives from giving back, that takes on various forms and capacities, with the end goal of reaching, educating, and making an community impact from Tampa Bay¿s early child hood intervention, crisis centers, community mental health care, job training and placement of the ¿recovering¿, all the way to our precious Senior Citizens and of course our US Troops and returning Veteran¿s. Kimberly, an huge education advocate, also supports many programs from evaluating MBA student business plans for local Universities, mentoring college students, Tampa Bay citizens in need, community awareness and education, other Public service related projects, elderly, public education investment in students success, the sick, the homeless, outreach programs to ¿at-risk¿ adolescents providing early intervention, only to name a few. Kimberly takes active roles and positions on the Board of Directors for Charities and various ¿for profit¿ entities, startups and has played an integral role, over the last 18 years, in launching some very successful grass roots community outreach programs with respect to targeting ¿at-risk¿ youth, creating Entrepreneurial training, and technology training and initiatives that have had a profound impact today. She is proud to celebrate these organizations success and for achieving a more than excepted societal impact for Tampa Bay¿s ¿at-risk¿ youth, among more. She is equally passionate for young entrepreneurs and lends her time toward the mentoring of, Women in Business, Start-Up Businesses, Non-Profit Foundations, and Advisory Committees. Kimberly , by way of, various advisory, committee¿s, and Board positions is able to lend her comprehensive and broad knowledge base and experience, for the strategizing and planning for the future, including but not limited to, providing the leadership of follow through of the critical execution of Strategic Planning and the education, thereof. Kimberly is not only an extremely passionate Entrepreneur but a compassionate person focused on giving back and supporting community causes that effect us all. Kimberly is in the process of funding existing programs and the launching of new community outreach programs, state level programs and Federal Government programs, various charities, including but not limited to, Community Mental Health, At-Risk Children¿s Intervention programs that make the Tampa Bay community stronger. Kimberly continues to hold seats and remain active many Boards for Non-Profit Organizations and Foundations providing crucial, critical, and outstanding services to the Tampa Bay Community. Kimberly is also a member of the USF Women in Leadership and Philanthropy. Kimberly is currently establishing her own ¿Foundation¿ so that she makes more of an impact in the Tampa Bay community and internationally, as well. Kimberly is already supporting many needs, such as, Diabetes, Autism, Hodgkin¿s, cancer, children fundraiser, our troops in IRAQ, and working with the Veterans Administration at the Federal level lobbying for extremely critical and currently ¿non-existent¿ extended Veteran ¿Mental Health Care¿ programs for our returning Veterans, and other critical initiatives. Kimberly often accepts Public Speaking engagements and has spoken on various topics, including but not limited to: Psychology of an Entrepreneur, Internet Trends (look back, assess now, and look forward), Ecommerce, Online Search Engine Marketing, How to Choose an Internet Service Provider, and much more. Kimberly is a member of several organizations, such as, Women¿s Presidents Organization, National Association of Professional and Executive Women, Zonta International Club of Business Women¿s Organization, US Women¿s Chamber of Commerce, Women in Congress Organization, Pinellas County Education Foundation, and USF Women in Leadership.
