Kirk's Story
Its been almost 25 years since I left good old Lakeview, and it seems like only yesterday. Time really flies when your having fun, and the last 25 have really flown.
I have lived in St. Louis for the past 10 years with my wife of 20 years (Helaena), and my 2 kids Tyler who is 18 and going to Mizzou in August-08 and Maci who is 16 and will be a Junior in high school this year.
We moved to St. Louis in 1998 as a result of a promotion with my employer, Yellow Transportation, and we've been here ever since. I left Yellow in 2006 after 19 years of service and many job changes to launch my own company, Flat World Supply Chain. In 2006, I was working as the Director of Sales for the Midwest, and was not happy with the direction of the company, so I ended a wonderful ...Expand for more
career (I'm either a genius or a complete idiot) and launched. We've been in operation for over 2 years now, and after a lot of hills and valleys, we're on a pretty smooth road now and growing fast. I love it!!!
I really haven't kept up with many of the folks from high school except for Mark Hamblin, obviously my brother Ken, and on occasion, Dean Sams. Ken and Dean both live in Nashville, so its been great to see Dean while in Nashville visiting my brother. Mark is still a wonderful friend, and we speak often. Mark's had a very successful career in the same industry that I work in, so we comfort each other when times get tough.
Really, life is good, and I look forward to seeing all of the people that I've missed over the years at our 25th class reunion.
