Julie's Story

Life Life after highschool didn't go as I had planned. I expected to go through four years of school and become an elementary teacher. I did go to school, but never became a teacher. I joined the military, the Air National Guard, in December 1989 to help pay for school. This took me away from school quite often. I was stationed in California during Desert Storm. During my time in the military I also had training in Hawaii and Honduras. In 1990 I worked my first summer at Ford Motor Co. In 1992 I was hired full-time. I ended up working there for about ten years (counting my summer hours). During that time I continued to go to school, but eventually decided I didn't want to become a teacher. I began taking natural health classes instead. I made some great friends at Ford. In fact, I traveled through Europe for 36 days with one of them in 1995. We had the trip of a lifetime. Ford also enabled me to buy my first home-- a condo in Canton. I ended up living there for seven years. I never had anyone serious in my life until September of 2000 when I met my husband to be. It was a whirlwind romance. We were engaged in January 2001 and married in October 2001. We have been married now for almost four years and we have been through a lot of ups and downs. A month after we were married we got a golden retrie...Expand for more
ver we named Allie. She is a great dog. In January 2003 our first daughter, Hayley Marie was stillborn at 34 weeks. It was very difficult for us. I became pregnant again three months later. It helped knowing we had another child on the way, but it was scary too. We will always think about Hayley and miss her very much. She was beautiful. January 2004 brought us our second daughter, Caitlin Marie. She was healthy and beautiful. We feel blessed to have her. She is now almost 19 months. Time sure does fly! Just two months ago today, June 2005, our third daughter, Chelsea Ann, entered our lives. She is also healthy and beautiful. She nurses so well, she is becoming our little pudgy piglet! :) I had homebirths with my last two girls. It was a great experience. For now, I am taking care of my family, but once the girls get older I plan on diving into the natural health field. I am already a certified reflexologist. One day I hope to also be a naturopathic doctor. Well gotta go! My girls are waking up from their naps! ... ... It's now about three years later. My daughters are 4 1/2 and 3. We keep busy with dance and gymnastics classes. Soon Caitlin will start preschool. I can't believe how fast they have grown up. I am still a stay-at-home mom, but once in awhile I help my husband out at his shop.
