Kory's Story
Since I've always been a man of few words, I'll keep this brief. After leaving high school, I attended Lansing Community College to earn my Associates in Computer Science, and then took a brief consulting job with the State of MI before moving to Columbus Ohio in '95 to start my career in computers. I've bounced back and forth a bit between salaried and consulting jobs working for several Fortune 500 companies including Cendant, MCI / WorldCom, and am currently consulting for AEP, the nation's largest energy company.
I had several serial monogamous relationships until I finally found my wife, Anissa, in the spring of 2002. Since I live and die on the computer, it was semi-natural for me to have been introduced to Anissa through Match.com after just a few months of single-date psychos. Since Anissa lived in Cincinnati (about 2 hours from where I live in Columbus), I originally pursued a closer relationship that didn¿t work out. After about 7 months of non-contact with Anissa, I called her and I think she dropped the phone since she didn¿t remember giving me her phone number during our previous email conversations. After talking on the phone for several hours at a time over a couple months, we agreed to have a real date in early March of 2003 and started seeing each other almost every weekend since. She moved to Columbus in early 2004 and I proposed in December of 2005.
We both decided to have a long engagement to allow both our families to save up and arrange to go with us on our wedding / honeymoon¿ a Caribbean cruise! ...Expand for more
Since we decided that our mothers absolutely must be present, we picked up their travel and cruise costs for them and sent invitations to all our immediate family. Amazingly, we had two groomsmen, two bridesmaids and 14 attendees at our wedding to help us celebrate. We were married by the captain of the boat while at sea on September 15, 2006. Our wedding reception was about a month later in Columbus since it is relatively halfway for each of our families. Let me just say that this was a great way to have a wedding. Everything was low-stress, low-key, and remarkably, low-cost.
A little about Anissa¿ she was an orthopedic technician and part-time Firefighter / EMT in Cincinnati, moved to Columbus to work as a physician assistant for a hand surgeon, and she is now a professional dog trainer with a rapidly growing business.
I¿m still an active guy. I workout every morning before work and play hockey two nights a week in an adult recreational league. My job keeps me pretty busy, but I have been able to assist Anissa with her dog training for dog-aggression and people-aggression cases. At some point, I¿d like to join her as a dog trainer full-time and grow this business into something that will support our lifestyle. Unfortunately, before we can get to that level, we need to build a facility to operate from¿ we¿re currently running this business out of our home, which limits us a bit.
So now that you¿re up to date on me¿ drop me a message and let¿s talk about old-times, good-times, old friends and new friends.
