Kristen's Story
Just a quick update on my life. After high school, I went to Duquesne University, graduating with a Bachelor's in Athletic Training. I took a Graduate Assistant position with Old Dominion Univeristy working for their athletic department while finishing a Master's in Education. From there I moved to sunny San Diego and worked as an intern for the USOC at their Chula Vista Olympic Training Center. I was there during the games in Sydney (there meaning the training center, not Sydney itself), so I met and worked with some amazing athletes. After a few years working in the collegiate setting, I decided I needed to do more and pursued a degree as a Physician Assistant. I went back to school in Philadelphia. I graduated in 2004 and my husband took a job at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. I was easily able to find a job in a private practice Orthopaedic group and worked there for almost 2 years. I was married in 2005 & had our first daughter, Madison in 2006. I now work at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD in the Department of Orthopaedics and I love it. Our second daughter, Sydney was just born in March 2008. We currently live in Severna Park, MD (a suburb outside of Annapolis).
