Kristi's Story
I lived in Southeast Brainerd for over 25 years near St. Andrews Church. I went to Brainerd Vocational School after high school. Took a couple nursing assistant classes in between times. My Mom Melva has been living at Woodland Good Samaritan for over five years now. She has a brain tumor, dementia, and a list of other issues. I studied Criminal Justice briefly at CLC. I made the National Dean's List which was a complete surprise. I had a rough period that put me in a boarding house for eleven months. I'll tell more if your interested. I now live behind Walgreens in Riverview Plaza. That's another story in itself. I went from Lutheran to Pentecostal and now Baptist. at to reconnect with classmates. I have never to a reunion. My current friends are all from Journey North. I actually know quite a few people. I know so many that one of my friends from the set-up team thought I was a member all ready. But we took 101-(Membership), 201, and we are getting baptized together August 10 at Lum Park. The Lutheran baptism I had when I was a baby is considered a dedication baptism at Journey North. I go to a weekly small group bible study-Women of Truth. We are an accountability group as well. We meet at New Song in the prayer room on Tuesday. New Song is across the street from the Gallery. I still love the older TV shows like In The Heat Of The Night, Seaquest DSV, and The Pretender. There's too much sex, and violence on TV now.
