Kristin's Story

Life Retirement is my present life's situation. I have left my many friends in the Trinity River communities of Hoopa/Willow Creek and Orleans and returned to Montana to live near family. Just a couple of blocks from the walking trail throughout the city I can stroll along with my camera and capture skies, birds and life as it unfolds in this wonderful and culturally diverse city in Montana. My gardens are being set-in here at my in-town bungalow and the farmer me is happy to have a small fruit and vegetable garden along with the perennials that add so much color in this, the "garden city" of Montana. My studio space for my fiber constructions is nearly unpacked...another week and I may have time and space for all that calls me from the years of creating and sketching and drawing. Textiles are most always the media I choose and now, without the commitment to the time clock, I am free to play and create whenever I desire. I still participate in writing on-line with folks from study weeks with Natalie Goldberg in Taos; add to that my writing group in Willow Creek who call each Monday for my contribution to the weekly prompt and any new poems and there will not be a lapse in the writing piece of life for me. My parish church here has just been voted the best in Missoula so whether or not I decide to participate in the music making I will always be filled with beautiful music ...Expand for more
in worship. Friends will begin to come from Washington, Oregon and California for visits in August and there is delight in such time for me. Life is good for me. I read every day, listen to good music, live simply and appreciate this beautiful earth and the people who dwell thereon. My Kids son-Ross & wife Andrea in Portland, Oregon daughter-Anne-Marie & husband Don, children Hannah and Breydon in Lolo, Montana My Family of origin Mom passed in October 1973 and Dad in December of 2007. Making memories last in art pieces and books allows me to give to my children and grandchildren that thread that is family history. My brother Dave and I had a birth father who left the scene at the end of the WWII and our Dad, Boaz Freeman, adopted the two of us and he and mom added two more sons to our family. We have two sisters and four brothers from subsequent marriages by that birth father. We have learned much of the history of that family and while in Humboldt County California I was able to find major information, joined the pioneer group and have some wonderful stories written for my family. The two sisters live in Montana! and we share so much in common and have enjoyed our becoming aware sisters over the past 8 years. My Pets no pets for now; eldest girl passed in November and we had a ceremony for her at the river's edge - she loved to sit at the window and watch the river.
