Kristina's Story
Life
Frankfurt was a great place for high school and 1972 was a great time to grow up there. Since then I have attended Mary Washington College in VA, and got my BA from the University of Wisconsin in Madison--both terrific intellectual experiences, but Frankfurt had prepared me in a way none of my peers from US schools were prepared. We got one hell of a great education at FAHS!
My degree was very helpful to gainful employment: It was in Scandinavian Studies with a minor in History. This has gotten me many jobs--not!
So I've been a journalist, an editor, a PR rep, association executive. Now I have a PR gig going that focuses on the design community. I set my hours, which means I work weekends and nights, of course. What client didn't expect you to take a call at their convenience? But it has given me time with my family that has been invaluable.

mber how my parents resisted telling. In retrospect, a little more direction would have gone a long way, but that's me, not her, so I strive to supress advice giving but...not so successfully.
My younger daughter is 16 and is finding herself in surprising ways after dealing with central auditory processing deficits (difficulty translating language into meaning). What I love is that she is finding it so easy to find meaning in music, in which she is thriving. She sees patterns visually and auditorially and that is beginning to come through in her reading, writing and other studies. Cool.
So, I have lived in one house since 1981, adapting it as we grew. The first addition came with a trio of bar/stereo cabinets that were too big for our room! Silly upon reflection of course. Two additions later, we have a fine house which we are looking forward to leaving! Enough of suburbia. To remove the tedium, we go to rock concerts and watch old guys do the music we love.
So I hope to run into my FAHS palls when I travel and that you reach out to me.
