Kristina's Story

Life You don't wanna hear my whole life story. I'll start senior year in HS. I didn't get along with my parents. I thought they had too many rules for me that none of my friends had at their house. I met this guy, Mike, in January 2002. We started dating in February, but my dad wouldn't let me see him as often as I wanted. I was doing poorly in school. In March 2002, I decided I needed a break from my dad and all the rules, so a Friday afternoon, I packed up enough clothes for the weekend and headed out. i was only gonna go stay with my THEN boyfriend for the weekend, he was gonna drive me to school Monday, and I'd walk home after school that day. Monday came and I didn't want to go home. So I stayed. My dad was crushed, my stepmother was angry, my sister was upset, it caused alot of trouble in my family. So Mike drove me to school everyday from Delaware and then went BACK to Delaware to go to work, and then after work came and picked me up from school. It was a hassle really. I received the word that I probably wouldn't graduate, and thankfully (I guess) my dad said from the start of 9th grade that I'd never graduate HS, or that it would take 5 years. I still don't know if he really believed that, or if it was his strange way of trying to motivate me. So I got it together and worked my butt off for 2 months making up every assignment that I dont do all year trying to get extra points so I could graduate. I went to the prom, but Mike bought the tickets, my dress, everything. We got engaged June 1, 2002. And I still didn't know if I was graduating....Expand for more
It came down to one class I had to pass the final exam for. 20th Century America (figures...the one I had failed once already in 9th grade). It was very last exam of the year, so I didn't know whether or not I was graduating until a few hours after the last day of school was over. The 3 or 4 days before that (of graduation practice) were brutal because I really didn't know if I'd even be there. I ended up passing my exam with the exact grade I needed to graduate, so I subconsciously threw that in my dads face repeatedly, but never actually saying anything to him. I guess it just made me feel better. We still weren't really speaking much at that point. Mike and I started thinking about the wedding. It was going to be Oct 19, 2002. In mid July we ended up moving it to August 24 and everyone thought I was pregnant. Well I wasn't. We moved it because most of the wedding party was going to college (for the first time, or returning) at the beginning of September. We planned the whole wedding in 6 weeks. About a month and a half after the wedding I found out I was pregnant. Jump ahead some months. Noah was born Jun 10, 2003. Induction 8 days after his due date, 16 hours of labor only to get to 5 centimeters, so they did a c-section. I was 19 years old and hysterical. Then when Noah was 6 months old, I found out I was pregnant again. Autumn was born Sept 30, 2004. They are about 15.5 months apart. Move ahead to now.... Mike and I are celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary this year, Noah is turning 3 and Autumn will be 2. Last update: May 16, 2006.
