Kathy's Story
Life
I met My Spouse through a friend. We have shared 20 steadfast years. We raised his two children, and now have three awesome grand-children.
My Pets
I rescue English Springer Spaniels and Boston Terriers, so I currently have one male Springer, three female Boston Terriers, and a Shepherd mix that ran into my yard one rainy morning and stayed as I could not find a home for her. All my furbabies are now seniors and we're looking forward to more golden years together!
6 thriving fish in the aquarium.
My Job
Admin Coordinator, Nursing, CSULB. I also belong to a local writing group. I love our mountain cabin, hiking, and reading.
I always wanted to be a Librarian when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a Great idea. As it turns out, they were right. That's likely the career I should have picked!
I practice Reiki, walk, listen to calm music, or get involved in a creative project to relax.
I also still like Rock music!
I believe my Inspiration usually comes from within...and, probably,as often, from people or the world around me.
I have lived in Beautiful Ivoryton, Connecticut and in Long Beach,Ca.
My biggest surprise is that I have done many things rather than marry, settle into raising a family and having one career. LOL -- maybe that was just bad planning all along, but I have had incredibly ha...Expand for more
ppy relationships and moments all through my life that I would never change.
If I won a $100 million, I'd invest enough to live on for life and use the rest to buy 2-5 acres of land for an animal sanctuary that helps people resolve their problems with their pets so that they wouldn't take those pets to shelters that kill them.
In college,I was a Little Sister for Theta Chi, which was tons of fun and helped me blossom as a young woman. I also managed to obtain a B.A. in English and teach 10th grade for a short period of time. I have retained a great respect for the lessons of literature in my life.
If I had one do-over, I wouldn't have patiently put away funds in IRA's for ten years that are now worth half of what I had saved.
I'll never forget the summer in 1970 when my mom worked so that I could go with my friend,Wendy,to Hawaii with the YMCA!
Since then,I have traveled to Ottawa and the Thousand Islands,Vancouver and the San Juan Islands,England,Kauai, and to many U.S. cities. Fabulous trips one and all !!
I hope I get the chance to travel more before my life is over.
I would like sometime to trace my Irish and German ancestry and visit those countries.
Life is a great adventure and a gift; might as well go through it all with a smile! I am thankful for each day in a comfortable home filled with lots of love.
