Kurt's Story

After high school I worked as a lot boy on a car lot, ditchdigger, janitor, and air traffic controller. In the mid-80's I became a paramedic and worked in Colorado Springs and Denver for 4 years. I married Kristi Parson (class of '78) in '82 and we have two "kids", Colt and Kati,. In 1989 we moved to Alaska when I was hired by the Anchorage Fire Department (400 employees) as a paramedic; was cross-trained as a firefighter in 1996; and then paramedic battalion chief in 1997. me too busy doing nothing to return to work. I was pretty much bald by the time I was 25 so I am glad my hairline is finally starting to catch up with my age. I still enjoy being a paramedic and am considering the Middle East and/or a flight paramedic position in Africa (I don't mind helicopters but I loathe working on airplanes). On the other hand, I like the thought of squirreling myself away somewhere in the "Lower 48" that is quiet, has a little fish pond, and a garage to tinker with my old Camaro's, 4x4 El Camino's, '79 Bronco's, etc. We'll see...
