Ladone's Story
Life
Well, I was born in Santa Cruz, Ca which is a suburb of Oakland but i'm a Los Angeles,CA native, living in Las Vegas,NV for the past 12 years.
What can I really say except, I was a goof-off in High School, who got the worst grades imaginable. I definitely paid the price for that but God gave me another chance just by blessing me the way that he has. First of all, I dropped out of school in 1989 at 18 just before graduation. Nothing really followed for the next couple of years except for trouble and a few dead-end jobs. Finally in February of 1991, I met the woman of my dreams who just so happens to still be the women of my dreams and always will be! I married and had my first child at 21. Everything was looking up except for the fact that work was hard to come by. After a few bumps in the road, my wife and I along with our 4 year old son, moved to Las Vegas in 1996. Once we got to Vegas, everything really started to click on all cylinders, because unlike Palmdale, work was easy to find in Vegas! In 1998 at the age of 27, we welcomed our second son. I was having some success but I knew that unless I went back to school to get my high school diploma, things just wouldn't feel totally complete. I then made the decision to go back and get my G.E.D. which I finally did in 2001 at the age of 31. I liked the way it felt to achieve accademic success so I stepp...Expand for more
ed up and enrolled in college. I started off as a Nursing Major, but as time went on, I knew that God had another direction for me. So Psychology seems to be the direction in which I was sent. Now at 38, with many life-lessons under my belt, I'm a God-fearing College graduate who's happilly married with 2 sons. See you all at the Reunion!!!
School
Well, where should I start? I guess I could start off in cleche fashion and say that if I could've done it all over again, I'd have done much better! Well that's true but I've managed to turn things around and have done pretty well. With the exception of terrible grades, I enjoyed my Highschool years at Palmdale High! I had a few good teachers that took the time to make their students better. Mr. Van Zanght, Mr. Yale, and Coach Gary Phelps. It's funny that the first thing that I think about when thinking of Palmdale HighSchool, isn't necessarily classes and learning. The first thing that comes to mind are students getting caught ditching by Buckwheat in his white golf cart. I don't remember him ever catching me but maybe he did once or twice.. Girls? hmmmmm, well I can't say much about that because none of them liked me but it's cool though.. I also think of the friends that I made and hopefully I could reconnect with some or all of them if possible. Soon I hope because we have a Reunion to plan.. PHS/class of 89~
