Marcy's Story
Life
I have 3 children: Elizabeth, Ian, and Aaron. We've lived in Fort Collins, Colorado since 1992 and we love it here. I taught first grade for 5 years and then became a stay-at-home mom after Ian was born. I'm a substitute teacher now and enjoy it a lot (no grading!!). After 27 years of marriage I divorced Roy (he passed on from Pancreatic cancer in August 2015). I remarried in July 2015, to Jeff Baker - I'm very happy! My family is nearby: Mary Jo and I lived on the same street for 19 years (we still live in the same city!)!! Our kids (MJ has 4 children) love being so close to their cousins. My parents moved to Ft. Collins in Oct.'06; it's nice to have them here (we lost Jerry to Alzheimer's in June 2014)! Life is ever-changing.

ntralia Elementary, Crescent Junior High and Gahr High School. I earned my BA in Spanish from CSU Long Beach in 1983 then got my elementary teaching credential in 1984. I taught first grade, bilingual, in Bellflower, CA for 5 years. It's been fun to see my children growing up and experiencing some of the same things that I did in school. I remember my school years with fondness (mostly!). I think about some of my classmates now and I feel, "wow, I should have been nicer to them," or, "I should have stood up for myself better." Experience really IS the best teacher. Of course my own children think I don't know anything so my words of wisdom fall on deaf ears. I was never as sassy as they are (I'm certain my parents have a different view on this!!).
