After graduating high school I joined the US Air Force. During my enlistment I served in Florida, Thailand, and in Washington State, at Fairchild AFB. I began my Air Force career working on weapon systems but concluded it as a dental hygienist. After separation in 1974 I worked in the air conditioning and refrigeration field for a brief period before going to work for Boise Cascade at the particleboard plant in La Grande in 1975. While there I attended Eastern, graduating in 1983. In 1992 I left Boise Cascade and relocated to Las Vegas, New Mexico where I worked for Medite Corporation.
