Lana's Story
Love Life
Together we have 8 grandchildren, 16yrs being the oldest and 20 months the youngest. Live in Tarkington Prarie about 11 miles out of Cleveland Tx., actually our little town is Rayburn, in a small country house on about one and a half acres. Thank God everyday I can still put my feet on the floor each morning. Just love life and all the people who are in my life, my husband, children, grandchildren,brothers,their family and a whole bunch of good friends,including my son's dad Mike Culpepper and his wife Marcy.
Workplace
Worked Bob Robertson Chevorlet right out of high school. Tried to become a police officer in 73, huh, they said I was to short. Where was discrimination then????? 1976 went to work for Houston Police Department in emergency call center for dispatcher. 1977 went to Harris County Sheriff Department as a dispatcher. then in 1980 went to work as a Deputy Constable for Pct 8 Harris County. Left police work in 1991 due to health reasons and 2 injuries.
I always wanted to be a police officer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was not for me. As it turns out, they were wrong.
Still good friends!
Jean Cassidy and Jack Clemmons, and we all three went from Kindergarden thru high school together.
Try to keep up with the styles
My current age is 58. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old. I was so completely wrong.
I am truly happy just as things are.
SOMETHINGS NEVER CHANGE IS WHAT I HAVE LEARNED FROM MY CHILDREN, and my oldest grandchild so far.
Biggest surprise in life? I learned long ago that BLOOD IS NOT THICKER THAN WATER, and that sometimes when someone says they love you, they are really obsessed with you instead, or just don't want anyone else to have you.
