More about Lance:"I was born in Bend Oreigon wile my parents were active at a rodeo event. My dad was a bull ridder and bare back ridder, among other activitives. They lived in Prinville Ore. at the time so after the rodeo and my delivery they went back to prinville with the new me. I have an older brother Lynn by 11 years, and had an older sister .of only 2 years. Lexie passed away from the Hepititas viras. She was anly 48 years old, Also one of my best friends. My brother is responsible for my passion for the automobil, Hot Rods, and cars in general. Lynn had me come up to Seattle one summer when I was just six years of age. I remember even in the summer time it rained alot, but was good to play in the rain. One day Lynn came home from working at Carnation food products, as a line mechanic , Joanne My wonderful sister-in-law told Lynn to take me out and get me some toys to play with. So what does get me ? , a model of a 1940 Ford tudor sedan by AMT corp. Wow that shaped my life long afair with the hobby of model car building. Wile Lynn was away at work Joanne would help me build my first model. She was an artist she tought me how to use the paint brush for nice even strokes. She was a great sister-in-law who took the time to show me that I could be really good if I practice alot. So practice I did she startsd getting me models. By the time I reached 12 years old I had collected 200 models. Not all those models came from her..I would ...Expand for more
wash my dads car , collect pop bottles what ever I could to get an other model. Models only cost one dallor and twenty five cents Back then. I had em every where, so manny infact that my dad told me I could use th pump house as a model car hobby shop. That was cool my first little building. However one day the pump house was heavily damaged when our huge Morgan/quarter horse lost his vision and went on a wild running spree then crashed into the pump house, that wedge his shoulders in the door way. Of course that did considerable damage to all the modles on the shelfs. That was a real bummer for the models but Minight was in need of being freed. By the time I got home frome school my dad had allready crawled under neith Midnight to get inside to help push and forse him out of his perdickerment.By now now his sight had returned and my dad was keeping him calm. After 6 hours of soaping him with water and pushing his muscles back out throught the door we finaly freeded him, put him in the barn with a extra big bucket of oats. The models had bin steped on and most of them ruined. I was sade for the models and verry happy that Midnight was OK. Midnight was an all black horse with a small white spot on his withers. and a star like spot on his forhead. Dad rode him at a rodio event in Prinville Ore. back in the very early fifties while Midnight was a bucking bronko, Midnight was only six years old when my dad perchised him from the company who supplied the horses for rodio events. My dad trained him for quite some time and used him at rodio events as a trick show horse and rode him in parades The horse was a very impresive animal. When the bands would play Midnight wou ld prance to the beat of the music, he was magnificent once he was all lathered up from swetting so mutch he became very shinny, and slick looking. My dad was also a bullwip artis, and wore a real matadore,s outfit, along with his sambraro. My dad had black hair with blue eyes, and could have passed for a Spaniard any day of the week.".
