Julie's Story
School
I was born in Ogden, Utah and when I was four we moved to Huntsville, Utah. I attended Valley Elementary and Valley Junior High and then my Sophomore year at Weber High School in Ogden. We moved that summer to Ogden and then I attended Ben Lomond High for two years. It was hard transferring loyalty to a new high school but I adjusted and found new friends. I received a grant and a scholarship to BYU and attended there from 1973-1974. I did well at college and received great grades but was unable to finish college because of money concerns. I got a job at Meridian Publishing Company in Ogden where I worked in the accouting department doing clerical work and then doing bookkeeping work. My best friend's father was my boss. During this time I found the man of my dreams and have now been married to him for 27 years. We have 5 children-three of whom are married. We have two grandchildren and two more on the way. My husband was in the Air Force and we traveled alot. Oklahoma, California, Rapid City, SD, Minot AFB in North Dakota. He was in the Strategic...Expand for more
Air Command and flew B52's. It was hard on our family life. He left the Air Force and got a job with Delta Air Lines and has been working for them as a pilot ever since. He will retire in the fall of 2018. We have lived in Oklahoma, South Dakota, California, North Dakota, Utah, Georgia and Florida. I have been a stay at home mom mostly and have enjoyed being able to have time for my hobbies which are sewing, crocheting, reading, and improving my home. We have been active in our church. We are LDS (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). I survived cancer in 1999. Ladies get your mammograms-mine saved my life. I served almost 9 years in our local arts council and helped make costumes and produced the programs for the plays and was the treasurer for a couple of years. We are now living in Davenport Florida-we moved here in October 2015. My current hobby is making my own lotions and soaps. I am also a quilter.. I have had a challenging but happy life. Having grandchildren is the best thing ever- I have 10 beautiful, smart, healthy grandchildren..
