Lanita's Story
Life
My husband Doug and I were married in 1981. Almost 37 years later we're still together and have 3 great children: Doug (34), Shari (32) and Ben (24), and 2 wonderful granddaughters..
The most important person in my life is Jesus Christ. Making the decision to accept Christ into my life has been the best decision I have ever made. Everything is not always perfect and rosy, but God gives me the strength and joy to get through any circumstance. (I Corinthians 10:13) Found a great church in Wenatchee, called Grace City Church. It feels like home. (STILL TRUE TODAY)
This last spring I spent 2 weeks on vacation with my husband, my mother, and my best friend in England, Africa and Ireland. It was awesome! During our time in Africa, we visited Pastor Stephan, who we had worked with in Africa on my earlier mission trips. He had a stroke shortly after we left in 2012, so we were excited to see...Expand for more
how he and his family were doing; and in Dublin both my husband and my friend "kissed the blarney stone."
School
Can't say who my biggest crush was because my luck either him or someone he knows would read this. The best, most inspiring teacher I ever had was Mr. Dick Schwartz, at RB. I My family moved to Kirkland right after my sophomore year, and I graduated from Juanita High School. My favorite and most inspiring teacher here was Mr. Lee Bogle, he taught several art classes I was in and paints beautiful pictures that are highly sought after.
One of my favorite things was the Rainier Beach News in-house broadcast with Jon Courtright. In Juanita, my favorite thing was art class.
Workplace
My Job
I retired from the King County Sheriff's Office after almost 30 years, and after moving to Wenatchee, now work for the Chelan County Sheriff's Office and love it! I enjoy the work and the people.
